Funerals
Every goodbye should be marked with love, reverence, and all about the person we've lost.
Funerals

A funeral gives us one chance to get someone's story right and truly honour their life.
That's something I take very seriously, which is why I'm passionate about taking the time to properly understand who someone was; not just the facts of their life, but the stories and memories that only their loved ones remember, so that we can create a funeral that sounds like them.
A funeral also honours those that are left behind too, which is why I take care of both. As a qualified counsellor, I'm passionate about giving the family and friends attending something that they can lean on in a moment that often feels overwhelming.
I truly believe it's important for every funeral to feel unique, but things I can help with include:
- A ceremony that reflects the person's religious, spiritual, or entirely non-religious beliefs
- Gathering and shaping tributes from family and friends, or supporting you to speak if you want to
- Music, readings, and rituals that mean something specific to your family
- Woodland burials, humanist services, and non-traditional settings, as well as more conventional ones
- Support around challenging or complex family dynamics, where a ceremony needs to hold more than one perspective with care.
Planning a Funeral?

I know funerals are often arranged at short notice, during one of the hardest times of your life. I aim to be flexible, calm, and easy to reach.
Though no two journeys with this work are the same, ours will look something like this:
- An early conversation, usually by phone, as soon as you're ready, even if that's before all the practical details of the funeral are confirmed.
- A longer conversation or series of conversations aimed at gathering the story of the person you've lost, to build a full picture of them and their life.
- I'll then go away and write the ceremony, sharing with you in good time before the day, so you can suggest changes, add anything I've missed, or simply feel reassured it's right.
- And of course I'll be there on the day — steady, prepared, and holding the space so your family can be fully present with each other, rather than worrying about the ceremony itself.
I take as much of the weight off you as I possibly can, while still creating something that truly honours the person you've lost — and gives you and your family a moment of real comfort in the middle of everything else you're carrying.
- An early conversation, usually by phone, as soon as you're ready, even if that's before all the practical details of the funeral are confirmed.
Ready to talk about a Funeral?
If you're planning a Funeral and would like to discuss celebrancy possibilities, get in touch using the form below, providing at least one set of contact details so I can get back to you.
We'll talk through your plans and hopes for the ceremony to see whether I feel like the right fit for you. If we decide to work together, I'll shape a ceremony that truly honours the person you're saying goodbye to and everyone who loves them.
